Five Minute Friday Lost

Lost

  1. no longer possessed or retained: lost friends.
  2. no longer to be found: lost articles.
  3. having gone astray or missed the way;  bewildered as to place,direction, etc.: lost children.
  4. not used to good purpose, as opportunities, time, or labor;wasted: a lost advantage.
  5. 5. being something that someone has failed to win: a lost prize.

Lost

I never really sat down and thought about what this word really means until tonight.  “Lost”  I’ve lost my keys, lost my glasses, lost love, lost a family member, I’ve lost a game.  But what have I really lost?  Most of these things are tangible items.  Items that can be replaced.  Except for a family member, I think these things can be replaced and or made better…

Losing a loved one, is well, irreplaceable,

I have never been so lost as knowing that my parents are both gone.  I remember a few weeks after my mother died, I was in the grocery store and needed a recipe, I went to the phone (this was before cellphones) and picked up the phone, dialed the number to my home that I great up in, where she always answered the phone, and there was no answer.   I just slumped down right in the grocery store and that’s when I lost it.  Not at the funeral, not the day she died, but there in that grocery store, sitting on the floor, holding the phone, bawling my eyes out.  I LOST my mom and I needed her.  I needed her a lot.  She was always my rock, always my go to person.  Her and I may have fought like cats and dogs, and not gotten along well, but she was always there no matter what.

That was a constant that I could always remember.

Mom was, well mom.  Strong, (when you lose two children before you, that makes you strong) she loved our God, (her faith never faltered) she was “Mom”

I know that for me, I want to immolate my mother’s personality, her love for giving to others, and her strength.  I pray that the love I lost and the person I lost, will live on in me.  It’s not that I would ever compare myself to her, because there is no comparison.  She was/is my rock,  I thank God every single day for the gift He gave me, when I was born to her.

Having a strong mom, with a strong-willed child, isn’t it amazing how he knows… He knows that the mother I needed wouldn’t back down, would be the person that I needed to stand strong and be able to stand up to my wilfulness… I thank God every day that He gave me her,

After life circumstances, I know that having a mom like I did isn’t a rare thing…

Thank you Lord for this gift, thank you for helping me understand that I didn’t lose a mom, I gained a legacy.

I love you mom

My Beautiful Mom

this is from Lisa-Jo Baker’s Blog that explains FMF)
So, here’s the skinny: every Friday for going on four years now hundreds of people have joined a kind of writing flash mob over here.
We write for five minutes flat. All on the same prompt that I post here at 1 minute past midnight EST ever Friday. And we connect on Twitter with the #FMFParty (It stands for Five Minute Friday Party).
No extreme editing; no worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation.
Unscripted. Unedited. Real.
It started because I’d been thinking about writing and how often our perfectionism gets in the way of our words. And I figured, why not take 5 minutes and see what comes out: not a perfect post, not a profound post, just five minutes of focused writing.
So now on Fridays a group of people who love to throw caution to the wind and just write without worrying if it’s just right gather to share what five minutes buys them. Just five minutes.
Your words. This shared feast. It’s easy to join in, just:
Check what the prompt is on my Lisa Jo Baker’s Blog.
Write a post in only five minutes on that topic on your blog.
{And if you don’t have a blog, no worries! Just leave your writing as a comment on my post} Link over to Lisa’s blog and invite friends to join in. Select the permalink to your post {so not your blog url http://www.lisajobaker.com but your post url

Our most important requirement for participation: There’s really only one absolute, no ifs, ands or buts about it

Five Minute Friday – Hands

Wow, what an extraordinary prompt, now, for me.  There are some things going on in our family that just bring you back to who you know is in control.  No questions asked.   That is God.  I KNOW without a doubt, my life is under His control and I know that HE controls my family.

It has taken so much to be 100% faith filled, without a doubt, no questions asked.

I pray to Him daily, for so many reasons, but these are just a few..

.

Just so many reasons, our hands are the way to express our feelings and emotions and love for someone

God has blessed us with hands, to say I love you, express joy by clapping, anger with a clenched fist, but what more can there be, but holding hands to express love for each other… Just like Jesus gave us so much love not by holding our hands, but by so much more sacrifice to have nails hammered into his hands for us.  For our loves, so that we would never have to undergo that same kind of torture.

Isn’t that the best, final expression of love?

From the top picture to the very last picture, each one expresses so much love in and of itself….

images

what mercy that He gives us every day by giving us the freedom to love, to hold, to nurture, just like He did that day on the cross!

Thank you for your sacrifice

Close

so many meanings… Close to you, Close to God, Close the door, they closed the circut, etc, etc.

God being close to me is my redeeming quality.  I am so blessed and so thankful that I have a close relationship with

God.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s not near as close as I want it to be.  However, He loves me, He protects me, and HE is my

saving grace.  Without His grace and mercy I would be nothing, absolutely nothing.  I thank HIM everyday that He is

never changing because I know I am, I know I am unworthy and such a worm.

He brings me up, He makes me His, because I give my heart to Him alone.

Better-James-4-8

God’s Love Is Closeness

God’s love is drawn to us that want Him.  He will never move, never leave.  You just desire.  Tell Him.  He knows, but

you tell

James 4:8 says, Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

I found so many other verses about this very thing.  If you want to read them click   here

God desires us to ask him.  His need to be wanted is so passionate and He is a jealous God.

The devil will do whatever he can in any role he can to make you think that you don’t need God or have a close

relationship with God.

But you do.  It’s his WILL, His DESIRE, He loves us so much, He wants us for eternity.  Are you close, do you desire to be

closer still?  Read your Bible, Pray, find a Home Church, Talk to Him, just like a friend.  Have a

conversation.  Outloud!!!

I try to live this every day. Be closer to God

Five Minute Friday – Friend – April 25, 2014

Friend

friend
noun
1. a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.
2. a person who gives assistance; patron; supporter: friends of the Boston Symphony.
3. a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile: Who goes there? Friend or foe?

Friend

I don’t have many friends, as in super close, tell all, bust a gut friends.  I have 3 exactly, My sister, Amber and Celeste.

The rest of my friends are great and I love them, however, they are more acquaintances.  I am sheltered, in my views on friendship, because I’ve been hurt so very much.  I won’t/don’t open up to anyone.   Deep.  I may tell the surface.

I however, will listen to anyone.  I feel honored when someone trusts me enough to open up with me.

Thank you God for those that trust me.

I pray that I will learn to trust more.

Wow, never realized how much this subject hurt so much until I talk about it. When you have been hurt by two very close friends, in the  same way, you tend to shut down.  You keep it all to yourself, you never know who you can trust, so you trust no one.

I pray again, that God will teach me to trust and to learn to be a better friend.

Five Minute Friday – Writer – April 4, 2014

Writer

a person engaged in writing books, articles, stories, etc., especially as
an occupation or profession;
an author or journalist.a clerk, scribe, or the like.`
a person who commits his or her thoughts, ideas, etc., to writing:
an expert letter writer. (in a piece of writing)
the author
(used as a circumlocution for “I,” “me,”“my,” etc.):
The writer wishes to state….
a person who writes or is able to writea writer in script.

Writer

I am not a writer.  Never profess to be.  However, I love to write.  Hmmm… What does that make me?  A wannabe author, a wannabe journalist, a wannabe writer…..  I thoroughly enjoyed working on the Tomahawk when I was in high school.  I also wrote for our annual “The Chief”  .  God blessed me with the ability to talk… a LOT, so now I am trying to do less talking and more writing and get my thoughts down on paper. I journal.  I write everything .   This comes from years of having a doodling habit.  I was/am always writing something.  Whether it be drawing a page of squares, or doodling the names of my family.  Or whatever else, I dream up in my head.I have a love for writing,  I only wish I could write so much better.  Another passion I have, is for journals and pens.  Getting new journals to me is like getting the best present ever!!! I love to go through and choose new journals so that I can write more.  These are two of my latest that I am absolutely in love with.  They go everywhere with me photo (3)

I also love pens, markers, gels, highlighters , crayons, art pencils, etc.   These are just a few of what I have and carry with me all the time!
photo (2)
Being able to share this love of writing and drawing and doodling with my grandchildren, makes me incredibly happy.  We spend hours on end, drawing and coloring and writing.  They have to learn a new verse for our Children’s Program at Church called Kingdom Kids  One of the ways we learn, is to write and rewrite the verse  That makes learning and teaching so easy. God has given me a gift.  Not the gift of writing but the gift of love of writing.
I know I don’t write grammatically correct.  I kind of write like I talk.  East Texan!! I couldn’t draw a picture of anything if I traced it on the paper for me. But oh how I love to write, journal, journals, pens, drawing, tracing, Spirograph, tracing.  It doesn’t matter, as long as there is a pen, a pencil and a piece of paper, I will write.
I dream of a day that I should have collected every story my son David  wrote…   Now he was a writer.  A good one at that.    He wrote stories and tales, and sports articles, etc  He wouldn’t let me save them.  When he was in Boot Camp, they took his journal from him.  I pray he never looses his desire to write. How I long to be like him and be able to create from a simple word, write from an idea and then simply, get published, BECAUSE you are good enough!Fotor040492452

Choice, choices, choose, choosing

There are so many things in our lives that are difficult, They are hard decisions, life decisions. Things you must research, ask questions, ask others, read reviews
Choosing GOD is as simple as John 3:16

For God So Loved The World – He loves us. No more, no less

That He Gave – just gave, no questions asked on His pard

His Only Begotten Son – the one thing in life that He loved more than us.

That Whosoever Believes – that’s it, you just need to believe

Shall Have – no questions, no maybe, SHALL HAVE

Everlasting Life – forever and ever and ever, double infinity, infinity and beyond…

Isn’t that awesome!!! Choose God, live eternally!

I CHOOSE GOD!

Five Minute Friday – Feb 21 – Small

Small

vast, gynormous, huge,

Small

This  huge, vast, gynormous world that God has given us, the beautiful stars, sun, moon, ….. the universe.  My world feels so small.  Insignificant.

Wow, can you imagine having HIS view of our world?  We may look like little worker bees running around just doing our jobs, getting through the day and focusing on the task at

hand.  He gives us this beautiful world to be in and all we have to do is just focus on HIM.  Gynormous, Vast, Huge….God… How can you not imagine the universe as this vast domain

when you think of God  How powerful and awesome He is.

But again, I know for me, I feel so small, so minute, so insignificant in this world.  Then I think of the commandment He has given us.  Go tell… GO TELL

Through God all things are possible….  The world becomes a very small place when we all take His commandments and follow through.

Think of how small the world would be if EVERY single person knew about Jesus Christ and His promise!!!  People loving each other, People sharing the word, People caring.

Wow can you imagine?

Five Minute Friday – Feb 14 – Garden

Garden

Mom and Dad

Garden
I can only look at a garden and think of my parents. (it seems I am always writing about my parents) They were the best gardeners. They had food for us all the time out of that garden, tomatoes, onions, peas, beans, corn, okra, it didn’t matter, what it was, if they could grow it, they tried.

There was nothing better than coming home to a home cooked meal that mamma had made using all of our own food that we had grown right down to the last little pea. The steak, the eggs, the chicken, all of the veggies out of the garden. Now the dessert was usually because we picked in someone else’s garden!

Those kinds of things are just too rare nowadays. People don’t grow gardens like that. I know my daughter in law wants to grow food and have a garden like this. I certainly hope she gets too! I will just have to sneak some seeds in with her! 🙂

Seriously, I love getting fresh tomatoes and onions from our neighbors, as well as squash and cucumbers!
I think a trip to Farmer’s Market is going to have to be made as soon as I can. Hmmm
What can I cook???

Five Minute Friday

Five Minute Friday

(this is from Lisa-Jo Baker’s Blog that explains FMF)

  1. Check what the prompt is on my Lisa Jo Baker’s Blog.
  2. Write a post in only five minutes on that topic on your blog.
  3. {And if you don’t have a blog, no worries! Just leave your writing as a comment on my post}
  4. Link over to Lisa’s blog and invite friends to join in.
  5. Select the permalink to your post {so not your blog url http://www.lisajobaker.com but your post url  http://www.lisajobaker.com/2012/07/five-minute-friday-2/ }
  6. Using the blue linky tool at the bottom of Lisa’ Five Minute Friday post enter your link.
  7. It will also walk you through selecting which photo you want to show up in the linky.
  8. Your post will show up in our Five Minute Friday linky.
  9. Be sure and encourage the person who linked up before you!

Our most important requirement for participation: There’s really only one absolute, no ifs, ands or buts about it Five Minute Friday rule: you must visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community

Five Minute Friday Jan 12 – See

See

where do you see, what do you see,

what does God give us to see

See

What can I see from my view.  I see the beauty of what God’s gifts have given me.

The Rain, The Sunshine, The Rainbow, The clouds, Puppies and Dog, My beautiful grandchildren, My beautiful children.

My husband.I see the love of a parent and a child, A couple that’s been married 67 years. A Dr healing his patient.  The luxury of modern medications healing the sick.

The minister in the pulpit, speaking the truth.  His flock that follows him in trust and love.

I see the word written so very long ago that tell me the story of Jesus

“….and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

Five Minute Friday Dec 6 – Reflect

very late, but here it is!

Reflect

today, I reflect.

on me, on life, on family, on thanksgiving, on visits,  – reflect

I believe that the visit I had with my son this past 10 days, was probably the worst, possible visit we have ever had.  Although being with him, seeing him safe and having that connection of daily interaction, was so amazing as a mom… I ruined his visit.

I have anger issues.  Major ones.  I don’t know why, but lately over the past few months it’s been horrible and getting worse.  I don’t know what all I am angry about, I’m just angry.  Which is not Biblical at all.

That in and of itself is enough guilt for me.  However, add in the fact that I ruined his visit, makes it 1,000,000 times worse.  I wasn’t angry at him ever.  Just angry.  I took it out on everyone around  me.  I hate this, I am angry at myself for this whole 10 days. I drove a wedge between us, that  may never be repaired.

The reflection I have is that I love my family with all of my heart.  I adore them.  Would lay down my life for them…

I want to apologize to all of them and at least try to start making amends for my actions.  Reflections on myself are always very hard.

I don’t know how to make it better, I don’t know where to start, except to say I’m sorry.  Pray that God will help me get through this and pray above all that he/they can forgive me.

As I Reflect tonight, I know that I have the most amazing family in the world.

I love you all, to the moon and back and infinity and beyond

I am so very sorry for the way I acted.

I pray that we can get through this and get back to a good place

Reflect
